Under Eye Filler in Ottawa

How Under Eye Fillers Work
During the aging process, several predictable changes occur around the lower eyelids. The skin produces less collagen and elastin, making it sag and wrinkle. The muscles of the lower eyelids and surrounding tissues are thin, resulting in bagginess and loss of tone. A loss of fat can result in hollowing and grooves around the eyes. The bones of the eye sockets even begin to recede, which can make the eyes look sunken. Under eye filler works to add volume and reverse these age-related changes.
In many cases, treating the cheeks with injectable filler is an essential foundation when managing the lower eyelids. By repairing this foundation, restoring lower eyelid aesthetics becomes easier. Neuromodulator treatments such as Botox or Dysport may also be added to your treatment plan to elevate your aesthetic result.
Types of Injectable Under Eye Fillers
These include options offered by Restylane and Juvederm. Hyaluronic acid is a synthetic form of a naturally-occurring substance that provides volume, hydration, and flexibility to the skin. Hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary and need to be repeated every 12 to 18 months.
Why Choose New Age Aesthetics
It is essential to be aware that non-surgical under eye procedures are medical treatments that should only be performed by an expert nurse injector or board-certified plastic surgeon.
Although this procedure carries very low risk when performed by an experienced practitioner, severe and sometimes permanent complications can occur when an inexperienced or untrained injector performs injectables. Injectable treatments should only be performed at an accredited medical facility by experienced injectors overseen directly by a board-certified plastic surgeon.
Preparing for your Under Eye Filler appointment
Fillers may be injected with either fine needles or cannulas. Most patients describe the feeling of being injected as a light pinch.
Depending on your treatment plan, your appointment may last between 15 and 30 minutes. It is not uncommon to undergo injectable treatments for other areas at the same time, such as lip filler, cheek filler, or jawline filler.
Swelling after filler injections is largely resolved in 2 days, although subtle swelling may last up to 2 weeks.
Because of the delicate nature of injecting under eye filler and the risk of product visibility, your injector may recommend your treatment be completed over two separate sessions.
To prepare for your injectable appointment, our staff will discuss certain medications that need to be avoided. These include certain herbal supplements, blood thinners, or other medications that can lead to bruising.
