Can I combine Facial Slimming with Other Procedures?

Masseter reduction injections are frequently combined with other non-surgical injectable treatments, such as lip filler, cheek filler, and under eye filler.
Masseter injections with neuromodulators work differently from other Botox and Dysport procedures. It can take longer to see the results after injection (up to 1-3months), but the results can last up to 6 months in some patients. This is because, in masseter reduction, the neuromodulators shrink muscle mass instead of selective paralysis.

It is important to be aware that masseter reduction procedures are medical treatments that should only be performed by an expert nurse injector or board-certified plastic surgeon.
Although this procedure carries very low risk when performed by an experienced practitioner, severe complications can occur when an inexperienced or untrained injector performs injectables. Therefore, masseter botox should only be done at an accredited medical facility by experienced injectors overseen directly by a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Preparing for your Jawline Slimming Appointment

Neuromodulator injections must be done 2 to 3 times per year to maintain their effect. To prepare for your Botox or Dysport appointment, our staff will discuss certain medications that need to be avoided.

These include certain herbal supplements, blood thinners, or other medications that can lead to bruising. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you cannot be treated with neuromodulator medications.

Masseter reduction treatment appointments usually last 15 to 30 minutes. Your injector will discuss aesthetic goals and work with you to develop a custom treatment plan. Any makeup will be removed prior to treatment. A topical anesthetic may be used during your procedure.

After treatment, avoid massaging the injected areas and avoid laying down for 3 to 4 hours. This can cause the neuromodulator medication to migrate into unintended areas of the face. Avoiding strenuous exercise 48 hours after injection can also help with the longevity of the treatment. There may also be mild discomfort while chewing for the first few days following your injections.
